ONTIER Organised the Event “Cybercrimes: Legal Scope and Prevention”

Spain
ONTIER, together with Bergantín and Iwan21, organised the ”Cybercrimes: Legal scope and prevention” day. The event took place in Seville, in the Antares Financial Club and was attended by over 40 senior executives coming from several companies.

Luis Miguel Martín Rubio, Partner at ONTIER Seville, opened the session, greeted the attendees and introduced the speakers to come: Jesús Castrillo, General Manager at Bergantín Insurance Broker; Karen Velandia, from Chubb; Ivan Marcante, Founding Partner at Iwan 21; and Joaquín Muñoz, ONTIER's Head of IT&IP.

According to Joaquín Muñoz, one of the main challenges brought by cybercrimes is that they can be started anywhere in the world, and it's difficult to face the legal scope of attacks coming from foreign countries with local legislations. That's why Joaquín Muñoz thinks that prevention, together with integrated technical and legal solutions, is key. Regarding cyberattacks, he concluded by highlighting the importance of collecting evidences that can be provided to the relevant authorities if necessary.
