A few days ago ONTIER UK hosted the seminar 'Ready for the New GDPR?' organised by the Spanish Chamber of Commerce in Great Britain, in collaboration with ONTIER UK, Patron of the Chamber, and Technorizon UK, Member of the Chamber.
The session focused on addressing the difference between the old regulations and the new obligations for the companies (controllers and/or processors of personal data) set forth by the EU Regulation (GDPR) entering into force next May 25th and the severe penalties in the case of non-compliance, providing some guidance on how companies should implement the GDPR in order to comply.
About the new GDPR
The EU general Data Protection regulation (GDPR) is a new law that strengthens privacy protection for persons based in the EU.
All organisations that hold personally identifiable data pertaining to EU citizens/residents, even organisations based outside of the EU, must comply with this ground-breaking regulation.
Enforcement begins on 25th May 2018.
