Last week, the Gijón Exhibition Centre hosted the business session on urban planning organised by El Comercio and ONTIER. The approval of the new General Development Plan and the news it entails, as well as the trends in the real estate market were the main topics addressed throughout the session.
Building companies, chambers of commerce and lawyers gathered together to explain and share their insights on the latest developments in the field together with experts on the topic addressed. When introducing the conference, our colleague Jorge Álvarez highlighted the legal security provided by the new planning, which he considered essential in the path towards achieving economic and social stability. In addition, he called for more flexible planning in the face of a constantly changing scenario.
The conference was attended by Mónica Álvarez, Public Law and Urban Planning Counsel at ONTIER, who went over the urban development programmed in certain areas of the General Development Plan, and Jaime Díaz de Bustamante, who participated in a round table on trends in the real estate market.
The day was characterized by the great technical-legal quality, which was echoed by the media. El Comercio covered the event in detail, but also other media such as Cadena Ser echoed the successful event.
